Business Visitor

A business visitor is someone who comes to Canada to engage in international business activities without directly entering the Canadian labour market. Business visitors must prove that their main source of income and their main place of business are outside Canada.

Examples of business activities include:

• Participating in educational, professional or business meetings
• Providing or receiving training in a parent company
• Exploring investment opportunities
• Buying goods or services
• Providing after-sales services

Business visitors do not require a work permit, however depending on nationality may require a temporary resident visa (TRV) to enter Canada.
