Visa Requirements for Fans

There is no special FIFA visa for the 2026 World Cup. You must meet Canada's standard entry requirements.

Entry Documents
Check Your Requirements Early
Depending on your nationality, you may need a visitor visa, an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), or you may be exempt from both. Apply well in advance — processing times will increase as the tournament approaches.
Important
Tickets Do Not Guarantee Entry
Holding a match ticket does not replace the need for a valid visa or eTA. Canada's border officers make all final entry decisions. We recommend noting "FIFA World Cup 26" as your purpose of visit when applying.

Accredited players, team staff, FIFA officials, and media may qualify for facilitated entry through special arrangements between FIFA and the Government of Canada.

How to Prepare

1

Check your entry requirements

Determine whether you need a visitor visa, eTA, or if you are exempt. Start this process as early as possible.

2

Apply for your visa or eTA

Submit your application online. Note "FIFA World Cup 26" as your reason for travel. Processing times will be longer closer to the event.

3

Book your travel and accommodation

Flights and hotels in Toronto and Vancouver will fill quickly. Consider booking refundable options in case plans change.

4

Get your match tickets

Purchase tickets through FIFA's official ticketing platform. Beware of unauthorized resellers.

5

Arrive and enjoy

Arrive at least a day before your first match. Bring your passport, visa or eTA confirmation, and match tickets. Welcome to Canada!
